Philip W. Schiller (born 1960) is the senior vice president of worldwide product marketing at Apple Inc.[1] He is a prominent figure in Apple's public presentations. He reports to Apple CEO Steve Jobs and has been a member of the company's executive leadership team since Jobs's return to Apple in 1997.

Experience

Schiller has over twenty four years of experience in product marketing and management, including seventeen[1] years at Apple in various capacities. His previous experience also included positions at Macromedia (Vice President of Product Marketing), FirePower Systems, Inc. (Director of Product Marketing), Nolan, Norton & Company and Massachusetts General Hospital (Programmer and Systems Analyst).

At Apple, Schiller was instrumental in the formation and marketing of iMac, iBook, PowerBook G4, iPod, Mac OS X, and subsequent products.

Schiller frequently participates in a supporting role in keynote presentations given by Steve Jobs, usually presenting new products. He gave the keynote presentation himself (with supporting segments by other Apple staff) for Apple's last appearance at IDG's Macworld trade show on January 6th, 2009 in San Francisco. This keynote included introductions to new versions of the iLife and iWork suites, a redesigned 17" MacBook Pro, and pricing and DRM changes at the iTunes Music Store.

Education

Schiller received a Bachelor's in Biology from Boston College in 1982. He began, but didn't complete, a Ph.D in English.
